WHY HONKOMATSU STONE?

The first tools used by humans was stone. The stone has always been a presence in our lives. With the passage of time, stone masons and their creations are slowly being lost.
ishiya no daidokoro is a kitchen utensil made from HonKomatsu stone, born in Japan and inspired by “mindful living”.
HonKomatsu stone was used for the construction of Edo Castle in the 1600’s and can be seen in the current Imperial Palace. It has excellent durability and heat resistance and it’s beauty is enriched further as it changes color over time. Our carefully handcrafted kitchen utensils, are the finest items to use.
